How do you use Shmoop?

I use Shmoop videos to help teach writing, as well as your Essay Lab to try to habituate students to process writing (and so they will see the same tips I always give them coming from somebody else). It's also something we use for research in class when necessary, such as when my students were recently trying to learn a Shakespeare play without actually reading one. It's a fantastic resource for information about literature!

So out of all that Shmoopgoodness, what's your favorite Shmoop product?

Love, love, LOVE the Essay Lab.

We love, love, LOVE that answer.

What is the coolest experience you've had using Shmoop?

The first time I experimented with the Essay Lab, and I saw right there in your quirky Shmoop language so many of the tips I'd been telling my students all year! Also, I loved it when we wrote an essay by hand and some students complained that they really wanted to use Shmoop for it. I recommend students use it for essay drafts and offer them extra credit if they show me their essay has been drafted using Shmoop. Also, the first time any of my students see one of your videos is always great!

Sounds like a win-win. Win.

What's your favorite item in your closet?

My favorite item in my closet is my pants hangers. With the two clips on them? They make keeping pants wrinkle-free a breeze, and I really hate to iron!

Without pants hangers, fancypants are just wrinkly pants...

What random skill are you better at than 95% of the population?

A random skill at which I rock
is writing verse to beat the clock.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to work for Shmoop when I grow up.

Amy is an awesome teacher.
We bet her students want to be her.
