This "shy blond" page (2.71) is friends with Jonathan, Raoul, and the rest of the group. He's one of the first victims of the Sweating Fever, and his death jars Alanna into using her Gift to help heal Prince Jonathan. The guilty thought that "He might still be alive if she had done something" (4.19) motivates Alanna into action.
