A Tent of Pain
- The fire has left the once dazzling Ma unrecognizable. Her skin is gone. Her face is gone. She can't open her eyes and cries when the baby moves.
- Daddy makes a tent out of a sheet to keep the dust off of her and squeezes water from a cloth into her mouth; Billie Jo wishes her ears could be filled with dust so she couldn't hear her moans.
