Out of the Dust Chapter 90 Summary

  • At first, it only snows. We've seen this before, and Billie Jo doesn't think much of it either—at least until it turns into a soft, persistent rain.
  • It rains like this for three days, and because they're used to false starts with weather improvements, they don't expect much else to happen. Then, it begins to rain harder, and because the earth has been absorbing the lighter rain, it's more than ready to soak it up.
  • The rain brings renewed hope to the farm. Billie Jo's father gets the tractor running again—he's sure that the wheat will grow again.
